In 2014 Michele Curtis held her first exhibition called Iconic Black Bristolians. The concept was developed on the living room floor of her brother’s London apartment. This inaugural exhibition featured intergenerational illustrations and biographies of some of the most influential and respected Bristolians from the African Caribbean community. The exhibition featured portraits and biographies of Roy Hackett, Lawrence Hoo, Dr Paul Stephenson OBE, Erna Reid-Bailey, Carmen Beckford MBE, and Leotta Goodridge.
